Guernsey Cricket Board (GCB) has control of all things cricket on the island and its purpose is to ignite a lifelong passion for the sport, starting with our children.
Cricket isn’t just for elite athletes or a sport for adults; it’s a sport for everyone and kids in particular can benefit enormously from starting in the junior programmes and learning the basic cricket skills through fun activities. Getting outside in the fresh air with friends and a bat and ball and playing some cricket is what childhood memories are made of…
Half Term Clubs
Guernsey Cricket offers a variety of courses during the school holidays from Tots Cricket to representative training. Cricket is a team sport that offers opportunities for children to get social, make friends and practise working within a team. The experience can improve a child’s social skills, including cooperation and communication, and can help them develop a shared love for the sport with other like-minded kids.
Guernsey Cricket Schools Coaching Programme
Guernsey Cricket Schools Coaching Programme sessions are open to players of all abilities and experience.
Tots Cricket is a new initiative to Guernsey Cricket which aims to introduce the fun and energy of cricket to groups of girls and boys from 2 1/2 – 5 years old. Learning cricket skills can help kids develop their physical fitness in a friendly environment and develop essential fine motor skills, improve endurance and stamina, increase balance and coordination and improve hand-eye coordination. Parents and siblings also get involved with the session to ensure all the little cricketers get the best experience.
