Do I have to be a mum to be able to buy the card?

No! Anyone can buy the card and the card offers great value savings for dads, grandparents and even teenagers. Our focus is on working with retailers and businesses that offer products and services for the entire Family market and so anyone can benefit from the Family Card.

What exactly is the Islandmums Family Card?

The Islandmums Family Card is a type of loyalty card that gives you access to discounts and special offers with retailers, cafes, restaurants and businesses in the Channel Islands. After you have bought the card, you just need to present it at the local businesses to claim your discount. Deals may change, so please do check our website and the up to date “Offers” pages to make sure you know what the latest promotions are.

In 2016, we have made the Islandmums Family card into an annual membership card. Once signed up with us, you will be charged automatically in November of each year for the year coming. We did this after getting feedback from you about how annoying it was to forget to renew the card each year!

How to sign-up for an annual membership subscription?

You will need to have a PayPal account linked to your debit/credit card to set-up a recurring subscription with us. If you (or your partner) don’t already have a PayPal account, you can set it up during the sign-up process with Islandmums which then takes you to to complete the account setting-up steps. You can cancel the subscription any time or we can refund you a payment in case you were charged in November but you did not want to renew for the year ahead (or were moving off island or other reasons)

I don’t want to sign-up for a recurring subscription, can I buy the card as a one-off purchase?

Yes – please email us on and we will provide you with an easy option to buy the card for one year only.

What kind of offers do you have?

The Islandmums Family Card gives you access to a wide variety of discounts, deals and special promotions. Many of the participating retailers offer a straight 10% discount off full priced goods. Such deals typically don’t work in conjunction with any other promotions so you cannot get the 10% discount on top of sales items. Some retailers offer special one-off offers during holidays or various seasons, whilst other retailers have special discounts during less busy times of their operation. The Islandmums team is committed to provide you with more offers and discounts throughout the year and we will work hard to secure these for you.

Can I let members of my family or my friends use my card?

The Islandmums Family Card is personal and non-transferrable to anyone outside your family. We have introduced the key-fond size of the card so you or someone else in the family can use it as well.

Can I pay by cheque?

We accept cheques. Please send us the following details together with the cheque to Island Mums Limited, La Ramee Farmhouse, Route de la Ramee, Guernsey, GY1 2TP:

  • your first and last name
  • full address
  • email
  • telephone number (optional, we only call you in case there are problems processing your order) and
  • the following phrase “I accept Islandmums Terms and Conditions”. You can read our Terms and Conditions here.

How soon can I receive my card?

It may take up to 7 business days for you to receive your card if you have ordered it online and up to 14 business days if ordered by cheque but we aim to process the cards orders as soon as we get them.

When does the card expire?

All cards expired in the end of each calendar year on December 31st.

What happens if I lose my card?

If you lose or misplace your card, please email us ( outlining what happened and include your full details (name, email, address, phone number). We will send you a new and complimentary replacement card.

How much can I save with the Islandmums Family Card?

It is very much up to you how much you can save. If you are a frequent user and take advantage of the numerous promotions the participating retailers offer, you can save hundreds of pounds every year! Fantastic, we would love to hear from you! Please email us on with the details. It would be especially helpful if you can make an introduction to the business via email and include us in the copy so we can follow up immediately.

Why don’t you have deals with some of the popular retailers on the islands?

Some retailers especially with parent companies off island have complex approval policies or set marketing strategies which don’t allow them to offer special deals in specific jurisdictions. They would often only be able to do deals that affect all of their retail stores where they operate.

Some retailers follow a “Every day low price” strategy and simply don’t offer any discounts to anyone outside of their own ad-hoc promotions.

We have talked to many of the local retailers and will continue talking to them to find ways of working together to deliver great promotions, deals and offers for you. To help us in our mission, please do keep asking those retailers that don’t currently have offers with Islandmums that they should sign-up!

I would like to get your card as a present, can you ship it directly to my friend/family?

Yes! We now have a special option to buy the Islandmums Card as a present – it comes in special packaging, opportunity to add your own personalised note and flexible delivery (choose time and where you want it to go) all at the same price as a normal card. Go to  –

Can you gift wrap the card if I wanted to send it as a present?

Our gift card comes in special festive packaging so although not technically “wrapped” it looks like a special gift.

Can you do express delivery?

Yes – please get in touch if you need a card urgently and we will see what we can do –

Can I buy the card somewhere offline rather than on the website?

Absolutely – we are proud to work with the following businesses who sell our cards, which you should be able to get straight away! There is no price difference.

Is your website secure to accept my debit/credit card or PayPal payment?

Our website does not actually handle any payments. These are done through secure and PCI compliant payment gateway called PayPal. Once you fill in our order form, your are then redirected to the PayPal site to make your payment.

What is PayPal?

PayPal is an online payments and money transfer solution that makes it very easy to accept payments for small online business like PayPal is owned by eBay and is the largest and most established online payments solution globally. Once you submit your order for the Islandmums Family Card, you will redirected to the PayPal payment page where you can either pay with your debit or credit card or you can pay by simply entering your the email connected to your PayPal details and pay with your email. Millions of e-commerce websites use PayPal as its payment solution.

 I’ve ordered my card a while ago but still have not received it, what shall I do?

We are really sorry to hear about this! Please email us your details, when you ordered the card and how you made the payment. If you don’t remember the details exactly, write what you remember. We will try to resolve it as a priority. Do notice through that it may take up to 7 business days for you to receive the card and cards go missing in the post occasionally.

I am a local business, how can I start offering discounts or special promotions to the Islandmums community?

Fantastic! We would be very excited to hear from you. Have a look at our page for partners here. We charge a one-off set-up fee of £115 to sign-up with Islandmums and get the following:

  • your own business listing page,
  • feature on our home-page for one month,
  • feature in an upcoming newsletter
  • several Facebook and Twitter promotions
  • ad-hoc promotions throughout the year
  • special mentions in relevant Offer guides, What’s on guides, blog posts and other communication we develop and send from time to time

I am a business, how can I advertise with you?

Islandsmums is a great way to advertise your business digitally to a highly targeted audience of local families. In fact, Islandmums is the ONLY local way to advertise directly to families online.

However, we only offer our digital advertising to businesses that work with us already through offering a promotion or discount to the Islandmums Family cardholders.

We don’t allow third party advertising that is not connected to businesses working already or that want to sign-up with the Islandmums Family card offer scheme.

I am a local business, can I post my own promotional  material on your Facebook page?

Sorry but no! We are committed to offering curated and relevant content to our customers. If you offer products or services for the Family market – please get in touch with us by emailing as we can find ways of working together to promote your business. Our Facebook page is reserved for publishing relevant information by Islandmums including deals and offers from businesses providing discounts to the Islandmums Family Card holders. We would love you to come onboard and offer a special deal to our card holders though which you can do for free and we will endorse it through our Facebook page and Twitter.
