Candie Gardens, is a park with beautiful views over the harbour and is home to the Guernsey Museum. Café Victoria serves light lunches and snacks and the park is laid out with paved walkways suitable for strollers as well as a beautiful grassy area for a picnic. Open daily from 8 am.

Saumarez Park in the parish of Castel is the biggest park in Guernsey. The playground has recently been redeveloped and includes state of the art play equipment suitable for toddlers and juniors. The park also boasts an outdoor gym. There are lovely paved paths for a nice stroller walk, learning to ride a bike and scooting. In the middle of the park is a huge green field for running around and ball sports plus a duck pond where young children love to watch the ducks and birds. The café is the ideal place to enjoy a light lunch or for drinks and ice cream for the children on a hot day. Inside the cafe is a great chalk board room for children to draw and be creative on rainy days.

Delancey Park in St Sampson has a children’s play area, open field cricket pitch, small skateboard ramp and stroller-friendly walkways surrounding the park for an easy walk.

Beau Sejour in St Peter Port is equipped with a playground situated behind the leisure centre. The playground is suitable for children under the age of 8 and next door is a huge open grass area ideally suited for ball sports. The Parks Café and Bar sells refreshments. A new skateboard park for older children is located on the same site.

Le Friquet Garden Centre in Castel has an outside and soft inside play area for children under the age of 5. Enjoy a lovely tea or light lunch at Café des Amis (open every day) or something Italian at Terrazzo del Giardano (open Friday, Saturday & Sunday) – 10% discount in the cafe with your Family Club Card. The centre opens from 8:30am every day.

Sausmarez Manor in St Martins offers a lovely outing for children up to the age of 7 with a putting green, play area and a Ride-on train. The Park Café offers home-made cakes and light refreshments. Tel: 01481 235571

Styx Community Centre has a small playground which is open for use by those living in the Western Parishes.

Ladies Bay/ Les Amarreurs – Situated alongside the beach this is the perfect place to come if you want to combine the two. There are swings, slides, sand pit and climbing bars. There is also a small kiosk for ice creams and refreshments.

Oatlands Village has a variety of different things to offer, so there should be something for everyone. Currently undergoing redevelopment, a new ‘playbarn’ will house a state of the art soft play centre (Oaty’s). Guernsey’s iconic and much loved airplane G-Joey will finally find a new home in the playbarn where the characters of Oaty and Joey will add to the ethos of learning by fun. Oatlands is also home to the Island’s 18 hole miniature golf course.  As well as the entertainments, there is also a jewellery shop, cafe, florist, craft shop and chocolate shop.

The Indoor Sports Centre houses an indoor soft play area (up to age 4) with bouncy castle and a new outdoor space with climbing frames and swings. It is also the home of Guernsey Gymnastics, a gym and offers a cafe area. They offer a monthly membership which allows you to attend the soft play area as many times during the month as you want.
